Op 5 en 7 maart 2010 is het Orion Ensemble met het programma Een lach door tranen heen te beluisteren in resp. het Van Cappellenhuis in Capelle aan de IJssel en het Dorpshuis Heerde.
Een programma met Suite Schindler's List van John Williams, Sounds from the Past van Joachim Stuchevsky en het tweede pianotrio van Dmitri Shostakovich; drie componisten die zich in deze stukken, ieder op geheel eigen wijze, hebben laten ispireren door de Joodse volksmuziek.

The Orion Ensemble
The Orion Ensemble is a chamber music society of which a piano-trio is the permanent core. It was founded in 2000. The Orion Ensemble gave many concerts on Dutch podia characterised by limitless programming as for style, time and country, in which especially the so-called cross-over programmes are popular. One of the strong points of the ensemble is linking up classical, jazz, Jewish, Spanish and Argentine music in an original way. Pauline Terlouw

The literary concert Dierbaar was written by Jan Terlouw. In this he was inspired by the Suite del Ángel, passionate music by Astor Piazzolla.

Lucia, de hoofdpersoon in deze bijzondere voorstelling, vertelt over de vier mannen die zij in haar leven heeft liefgehad. Ze heeft hen slecht behandeld en vecht aan het eind van haar leven een hevig gevecht met haar ziel, waarbij ze steeds meer gaat inzien wat deze mannen voor haar hebben betekend. Eén van haar geliefden noemde haar zijn serafijn, maar wat dat precies is weet Lucia niet...

After consultation programmes can be composed “to order” fitting the occasion a concert is organised for. Thus we made programmes for the Bartimeus Teaching Institute, for the SNV (Stimulation Fund Housing Department Dutch municipalities), for the Foundation Architecture Prize Achterhoek, for the Tilburg university, and for private persons.

Composers' Portraits
The last few years the Orion Ensemble, by request, has very successfully organised a number of composers’ days. The programme covers two parts of a day.
