Again in Utrecht, in ‘De Zeven Linden’ a series of classes ‘Het Luisterrijk’, intended for music lovers. They consist of ten listening lessons during which Leonard Leutscher is a helpful guide while you are listening to classical music of different periods. This season is the forth in succession with classes on Monday evenings. The contents of the lessons differ from those of the previous seasons. Therefore the course is suitable for both

For over twenty years Leonard Leutscher has been giving classes at Institutes for the Arts at Emmen and Meppel and now, for the third season in Utrecht. So he can draw from a large experience enabling him to give lessons of a tremendous riches and variation in a most compelling way.

What can be expected? Attention to the musical language composers use, to the contents, form and structure of their compositions in connection with the spirit of the time. Attention to specific symbols in music with which composers give personal significance to their work. Attention to the lives of certain composers and their sources of inspiration, to the coherence in greater works such as , for instance, the symphonies by Beethoven and Mahler. All this combined with unique visual material (on large screen), aural examples, background information, but above all the clarifying and juicy interpretation by Leonard Leutscher, who with his great passion for music and knowledge of its theory always manages to give his audience more in-depth comprehension of the most diverse kinds of music.

The classes consist of ten lessons on Monday evenings, once every fortnight from 19.30 till 21.30 hours.
