ORION ENSEMBLE

On the evening of the 20th of may there will be a special performance of the literary concert Wankele Wereld by Jan Terlouw and the Orion Ensemble in the concerthall of the Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu in Bilthoven (RIVM).
Main character of Wankele Wereld is Wijnand, a succesfull person who is getting more and more unhappy and comes into conflict with himself and his surroundings. The underlying theme is modern man's consumer behaviour which is dangerous to our earth and to ourselves.

Terlouw was inspired by the passionate music of Astor Piazzolla. The narrative line runs parallel to the music and takes us along in the change Wijnand undergoes. Music and text are fully interwoven and form a unity

 

After the concert the first copy of the book Wankele Wereld will be presented. The book is equiped with a cd of the literary concert and it is richly illustrated by Sjaak van der Vooren.

In the hall of the RIVM there is an exibition of Sjaak van der Vooren, graphic artist and illustrator of the book.
